Frank's Friday

Friday 29 May | 17:00 - 20:00

Europe/Amsterdam
Once a month, PYM co-founder Frank van Beuningen hosts a get-together at his home in Amsterdam to bring together wealth holders. Each month, a speaker introduces a new topic worth exploring.

These meetings are by invitation only and open to private wealth holders. If you are interested in joining, please register here; also if you've joined Frank's Friday before. We have limited seats available, so without email confirmation you are not able to join.

What does this time ask of us – as individuals and as investors?

During this special Frank’s Friday, just ahead of Frank’s 80th birthday, we come together to explore a question that many of us feel, yet rarely articulate.

We are living in a time of rapid change and growing uncertainty. Economic systems are shifting, societal challenges are becoming more urgent, and the role of capital is increasingly being questioned.

What does this mean for how we relate to the world – and to our wealth?

Together with Herman Wijffels, who has a unique ability to interpret the major movements of our time and translate them into personal and practical insights, we will explore what these developments ask of us. Not only in a general sense, but specifically as impact investors.

  • Where do the real choices lie today?
  • How do you move from reflection to action?
  • And what does that require from us – individually and collectively?

Bringing the conversation closer to practice, Maud van Beuningen will offer a substantive reflection on the recent Impact Days, “Build Tomorrow, Today.” She will connect the key themes and insights from those days to concrete investment directions for the future.

This evening brings together two perspectives: a broader reflection on the time we live in, and a translation into where and how you can already invest today in the world of tomorrow.

Maud van Beuningen

Maud van Beuningen

After her career as a lawyer and corporate counsel at Clifford Chance, Airbus, and ABN AMRO, where she worked in mergers and acquisitions, Maud now focuses on combining wealth and impact – both professionally and within her own family.

At ABN AMRO, she was involved in financing large-scale energy transition projects, such as wind farms, while also becoming actively engaged in her family’s investment vehicle. She later worked at Bluemetric, where she advised private wealth holders on investments in private and public markets, with a focus on impact in private equity and engaging next generations.

Within her family, Maud contributes to the development of the investment strategy and initiated a family academy focused on themes such as investing and impact.

As a board member of PYM, Maud aims to inspire and activate private wealth holders to take concrete steps toward impact investing.

Frank van Beuningen

Who is Frank?

Frank is one of the founding fathers of impact investing in Europe after he first learned about it in the United States in the early 1990s. He now has a more than 30-year track record of investing his capital for good.

In 1994, he started Pymwymic, the “Put Your Money Where Your Meaning is Community”. Under his leadership, the first pioneers in impact investing brought Ben & Jerry’s to the Netherlands and invested in around fifty start-ups, including the disruptive FairPhone. Since 2017, the ever-growing cooperative of European investors has focused on regenerative agriculture and healthy food. The funds are managed in a Steward Ownership structure.

Frank  has launched many other initiatives to develop impact investing in Europe. He is a founding member of the Donor Impact Invest Fund.

He continues to Put His Money Where His Mouth Is, as an investor and advisor in multiple impact enterprises and initiatives. His passion is sailing, and he loves nature.
